This tool makes it so much easier for precision stamping, multiple stamping, 2, 3, 4, and even 5 step stamping and so much more.

I recently held a class using the Stamparaus where I used 5 stamps to create the finished image with precision stamping. Everyone got right the first time!

Under the Sea Much to See!

One of my new favorite bundles in the new catalog is the Sea of Textures Bundle.

Wood-mount 148357 Clear – mount 148358

I used this bundle to design a card for one of my classes.

I love the textures you can create with this bundle using stamps and dies. This particular card looks like it’s framed. Here are the dimensions and instructions for this card:

  • Stamp Tranquil Tide card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2) with Crumb Cake ink all along the edges.
  • Stamp Crumb Cake cardstock (4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″) with the same stamp and ink then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink
  • Layer it on a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″)
  • Sponge the edges of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 2-3/4″) with Tranquil Tide ink then lightly sponged over the entire piece
  • Stamp the seaweeds with Granny Apple Green ink and the coral with Calypso Coral ink. The sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso ink.
  • Stamp the Octopus on Whisper White cardstock (3″ x 2-1/2″) with Tranquil Tide ink and cut out with the matching die. then mount Octopus with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the stamped Whisper White cardstock layer
  • Cut a piece (5-1/4″ x 1/2″) of the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and layer at the bottom of Whisper White cardstock (5-1/4″ x 4″) for the inside of the card.

Now for the BIG NEWS…

During OnStage Stampin’ Up! announced that they are making significant and beautiful changes in their color collections effective June 1st. I will be sharing additional information on what’s coming soon. In the meantime, a few colors will be retiring from the core color collections along with the 2017-2018 In Colors (with the exception of Flirty Flamingo which will continue as a new core color.)

See the new Color Revamp HERE

In addition to the Color Revamp Stampin’ Up! has changed the design of the Ink Pads. Using research from demonstrators and customers Stampin’ Up! discovered a few things that could improve the design of the Classic Stampin’ Pad case.

They wanted the new case to

  • Be less confusing to open. Opening the new ink pad case is now more simple and intuitive—just insert your thumb in the “lip” at the front of the case and lift it to open (similar to a cosmetic case.)
  • Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base. With the new design, the lid doesn’t accidentally become disconnected which was a common problem with the old case style. With use, the lid will be easier to slide open and close.
  • Be stackable. The ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport. They designed a nub in each bottom corner that fits nicely into the “dimple” on the top of another case.
  • Include improved labels and stickers. Here are a few of the ways they’ve done that:
    • They’ve redesigned the front label with a cleaner, bolder design and larger color swatch, making it easier to see the ink’s color.
    • They’ve included a new In Color icon.
    • They’re continuing to provide color stickers that you can place on the end of each case to easily identify the ink’s color at a glance.
    • They’re providing a new color sticker you can place on the inside of the pad, so you can easily distinguish the ink’s color when the case is open.

IS THE INK DIFFERENT?
Since they were improving the case they decided to make improvements to the ink as well!

They added defoamer to the ink ingredients because they noticed that the old ink would sometimes bubble (especially on new pads and with lighter colors). When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as they’d like to see it.
The added defoamer will

  • Reduce ink bubbles
  • Help you get an even coating of ink on the stamp
  • Help the stamped image have a smoother, solid look

So this is the big news I wanted to share from OnStage. There will be more to come and I will let you soon.

Las Vegas OnStage Day 1 and 2

We made it to Las Vegas early Thursday morning, hardly any sleep for us all. That didn’t stop us from dropping our bags of at our hotel room in the Rio and venture out for some fun!

My Stampin’Amigas, Cydra, Debra and Patti headed out to the strip. We visited the Venetian and Paris hotels. We found some love at the Venetian, that’s me on the “E”.

Being silly at the Venetian.

After dinner we treated ourselves to some delicious desserts at the Paris hotel.

Day 2 -Friday, we headed to the Mandolin Bay hotel for breakfast.

Mimosas for my friends and coffee for me. We’re still having so much fun and will need to rest for tomorrow’s Stampin’ Up event!

Celebrating Our Anniversary in Savannah

My husband Darren and I try to get away for our anniversary and this year we visited Savannah, GA. I’ve been there a couple of times before but I never get tired of seeing this beautiful city and spring is one of the best times to visit. We stayed at the historical Hamilton Turner Inn right on Lafayette Square and next door to The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

We had our own private entrance and courtyard at the front of the house!

Our room was the Isaiah Davenport room full of charm.

It was a pleasure to hear the church bells ring from The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.  The Stations of the Cross were all hand carved with such detail.

These beautiful stain glass windows were a work of art from the Innsbruck Glassmakers in the Austrian Tyrol.

We visited almost all of the 22 squares and Forsyth Park with its impressive fountain.

We took a tour of The Mercer House, the setting for the murder in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”

We also visited the Andrew Low house where Juliette Low (founder of the Girl Scouts) lived. This house is said to be haunted and happens to be right across from where we were staying. I took a photo of Juliette Low’s room displaying one of the first Girl Scout uniforms.

While strolling around the various squares and streets Darren made a friend who later retreated to her balcony.

We had dinner at the Olde Pink House where we were entertained by marvellous musician Diana Rogers.

I hope you enjoyed these few photos of our anniversary trip. Here is the card I made for my husband who loves to play his many guitars. I copied this card from Carol Lovenstein, it was perfect for Darren.
