Autumn Shadow Box a Success!

In a previous post on August 13th I showed the result of my Sunday designing day with my friend Debra LaFountaine for our Autumn Shadow Box class. We had 13 stampers at my house having fun stamping and putting together their shadow boxes. Here are a few photos of their end result.

We had to book a second class for those that couldn’t make it to the first one. If you are local to the Central Florida area and would like to join us, contact me.

The birds are missing above the Sling Back Chair, we decided to add them before the class.

Shim Disaster!

Note to self and everyone out there with a Big Shot…DO NOT put a paper shim as your bottom layer in your Big Shot. It can get crinkled up and roll into the middle area of the Big Shot this is the only way to get it out.

After a successful extraction of the crinkled shim and a few more little pieces of card stock and vellum, it’s all back together again!

This is the order in which a shim should be layered; platform, shim, cutting plate, card stock, thinlit, and top cutting plate. Lesson learned!

How did you spend your Sunday?

I spent the day creating and stamping with my friend Debra LaFountaine! I’ve been promising my faithful stampers a Shadow Box class for the longest time so this coming Saturday it’s Shadow Box time! Debra and I collaborated in creating an Autumn design and we’re looking forward to helping our stampers make their own.

We used the Colorful Seasons Bundle and love the results. This stamp set has so many possibilities that we are using it for 3 more shadow box classes, one for each season.

This is what it looks like when mounted in an actual Shadow Box.

If you’re in the Orlando area come join us for one of our upcoming classes!

Embossing Paste Technique Class

I had my Technique Class this morning and it was great to see some of my regular stampers, one I haven’t seen in a while and brand new stampers! This week I focused on the new Embossing Paste but I added a few more techniques to the class and it was a success!

I used a tile and just pressed the ink pads on it, then I took my stamp and picked up colors from all to get this unique leaf color.

You can watch the video below and learn how to use and color the Embossing Paste.

For my second card I wanted a rustic brick wall look and combined it with the Adirondack chair and flowers from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies. Take a look at the product list below.

My third card was a design from my friend Debra LaFountaine. This was a quick and easy card to make using the Birthday Memories Suite.

Sip & See for Leila Marie

My niece Sheila just had a beautiful baby girl on May 30th. She didn’t know the sex of the baby and wanted to be surprised so we postponed the shower for after the birth. This type of shower is called a ‘Sip & See’. The concept is to come sip some coffee, wine or champagne and see the newborn baby. Below are a few pictures of the event, my sisters and I love to put out a great display!
