Team Meeting and Swap

This past Saturday I held my monthly Team Meeting with my downline and as usual, I forgot to take a picture of our fabulous team! We were a total of 11 team members and we had a great time learning and sharing with each other. We worked on a project and a few of us also swapped cards. We were a total of 5 who participated in the swap, take a look at the great variety of cards.

Tina’s swap. She did a great job combing the Waterfront stamp set with Thinlits from the Seasonal Layers set.

My swap was an inspired/cased layout by Brandy Cox I stamped the greeting from the Friendly Conversation stamp set on Whisper White cardstock then the spotlighted words on matching cardstock. I cut them down and glued over the Whisper White piece.

Maria’s swap. Maria used one of the Hostess stamp sets (Hand Delivered) to make this cute graduation card.

Carmen’s swap. Carmen combined the Woodland Embossing Folder with the Still Night stamp set and matching Night Owl Thinlits from the Holiday catalog for this stunning card.

Deborah’s swap. I love the colors Deborah used in this card! She combined the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder to bring out the flowers from the Tropical Chic Bundle.

If you would like to participate in my Team Meetings you can! Just join HERE for $99 and you get to pick $125 of products to customize your own starter kit. Then let the fun begin!

Stampin’Up! is celebrating their 30th Anniversary and it’s a big celebration!  During the first week of November Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will have the opportunity to participate in OnStage Live. There will be over 9000 of us in Orlando, FL swapping, sharing ideas, learning and meeting new people from 10 different countries. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! is in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, New Zeland, United Kingdom and United States (including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico)?

Who Doesn’t Love Dandelion Wishes?

As I child I used to love picking dandelions and blowing on them while making a wish. Now as an adult I love making cards with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set!

See below for product list and a Free PDF print out.

I recently held a Stamp-A-Stack class and one of the cards my stampers made was using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set along with the Love What You Do stamp set. Using the same materials and dimensions you can change the look of a card slightly or give it a whole new look. Here are the samples of the cards they made with two different color cardstock. What I love about this card is that you can use any color and it will look great.

OnStage Update

OnStage is over and I am back home! Before I get into sharing the big news from OnStage I want to let you know what products are retiring from our current Annual and Occasions Catalogs. This is the time to put in your orders before they are gone for good. Some of the Bundles will be retiring, the stamps and framelits might continue in the new catalog but you will not be able to purchase them in a Bundle with the 10% discount.

Now for the BIG NEWS…

During OnStage Stampin’ Up! announced that they are making significant and beautiful changes in their color collections effective June 1st. I will be sharing additional information on what’s coming soon. In the meantime, a few colors will be retiring from the core color collections along with the 2017-2018 In Colors (with the exception of Flirty Flamingo which will continue as a new core color.)

See the new Color Revamp HERE

In addition to the Color Revamp Stampin’ Up! has changed the design of the Ink Pads. Using research from demonstrators and customers Stampin’ Up! discovered a few things that could improve the design of the Classic Stampin’ Pad case.

They wanted the new case to

  • Be less confusing to open. Opening the new ink pad case is now more simple and intuitive—just insert your thumb in the “lip” at the front of the case and lift it to open (similar to a cosmetic case.)
  • Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base. With the new design, the lid doesn’t accidentally become disconnected which was a common problem with the old case style. With use, the lid will be easier to slide open and close.
  • Be stackable. The ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport. They designed a nub in each bottom corner that fits nicely into the “dimple” on the top of another case.
  • Include improved labels and stickers. Here are a few of the ways they’ve done that:
    • They’ve redesigned the front label with a cleaner, bolder design and larger color swatch, making it easier to see the ink’s color.
    • They’ve included a new In Color icon.
    • They’re continuing to provide color stickers that you can place on the end of each case to easily identify the ink’s color at a glance.
    • They’re providing a new color sticker you can place on the inside of the pad, so you can easily distinguish the ink’s color when the case is open.

IS THE INK DIFFERENT?
Since they were improving the case they decided to make improvements to the ink as well!

They added defoamer to the ink ingredients because they noticed that the old ink would sometimes bubble (especially on new pads and with lighter colors). When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as they’d like to see it.
The added defoamer will

  • Reduce ink bubbles
  • Help you get an even coating of ink on the stamp
  • Help the stamped image have a smoother, solid look

So this is the big news I wanted to share from OnStage. There will be more to come and I will let you soon.

Las Vegas OnStage Day 1 and 2

We made it to Las Vegas early Thursday morning, hardly any sleep for us all. That didn’t stop us from dropping our bags of at our hotel room in the Rio and venture out for some fun!

My Stampin’Amigas, Cydra, Debra and Patti headed out to the strip. We visited the Venetian and Paris hotels. We found some love at the Venetian, that’s me on the “E”.

Being silly at the Venetian.

After dinner we treated ourselves to some delicious desserts at the Paris hotel.

Day 2 -Friday, we headed to the Mandolin Bay hotel for breakfast.

Mimosas for my friends and coffee for me. We’re still having so much fun and will need to rest for tomorrow’s Stampin’ Up event!

Celebrating Our Anniversary in Savannah

My husband Darren and I try to get away for our anniversary and this year we visited Savannah, GA. I’ve been there a couple of times before but I never get tired of seeing this beautiful city and spring is one of the best times to visit. We stayed at the historical Hamilton Turner Inn right on Lafayette Square and next door to The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

We had our own private entrance and courtyard at the front of the house!

Our room was the Isaiah Davenport room full of charm.

It was a pleasure to hear the church bells ring from The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.  The Stations of the Cross were all hand carved with such detail.

These beautiful stain glass windows were a work of art from the Innsbruck Glassmakers in the Austrian Tyrol.

We visited almost all of the 22 squares and Forsyth Park with its impressive fountain.

We took a tour of The Mercer House, the setting for the murder in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”

We also visited the Andrew Low house where Juliette Low (founder of the Girl Scouts) lived. This house is said to be haunted and happens to be right across from where we were staying. I took a photo of Juliette Low’s room displaying one of the first Girl Scout uniforms.

While strolling around the various squares and streets Darren made a friend who later retreated to her balcony.

We had dinner at the Olde Pink House where we were entertained by marvellous musician Diana Rogers.

I hope you enjoyed these few photos of our anniversary trip. Here is the card I made for my husband who loves to play his many guitars. I copied this card from Carol Lovenstein, it was perfect for Darren.

Then there was the coloring of the flowers…not so hard with my messy blending technique.
